Kristy Daphnis

Kristy Daphnis is a Co-Founder and Steering Committee Member for the Montgomery County chapter of Families for Safe Streets, which aims to provide support, community, and advocacy opportunities for families and friends of traffic crash victims. In 2011, her child’s caregiver, Etsegenet Hurissa, was killed by a speeding driver while she attempted to cross Georgia Avenue in Aspen Hill, MD. Since that incident, Kristy has been an avid advocate for safe streets in Montgomery County, across the State of Maryland, and beyond.
