Max Markham

Max Markham is the executive director of the Policing Project. Max has served in leadership roles at national nonprofits since 2020 and across local government in New York prior to this. He is an experienced campaign operative, managing or advising candidates for mayor, district attorney, borough president, state legislature, and city council. Max’s work has been published in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Data for Progress, Vital City, Newsweek, and NPR. Max received his J.D. from NYU School of Law and his B.A. from Stanford University. He is a native New Yorker and lives in Harlem.
