The latest streets and transportation news from Streetsblog USA.

Today’s lead story comes from Los Angeles, where on Monday, LAPD shut down a volunteer work party painting new crosswalks in Westwood. The crosswalk install was organized by Jonathan Hale, under the banner of People’s Vision Zero which is building on the work of do-it-yourself street safety installs pioneered by the L.A. Crosswalks Collective.

We also have an op-ed from urban planning masters student Ethan Andersen about how USDOT Sec. Sean Duffy’s calls for civility in air travel as a means for achieving safety rings hollow given… everything that Duffy’s doing to destroy safety on the country’s roads.
